mTBI By Invitation Only

Understanding Concussion:
Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment

We will be hosting a 2-hour continuing education course on cervicogenic injuries and cervicogenic symptoms related to mild traumatic brain injury.  This course is designed medical doctors, especially neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic doctors and sports medicine doctors and nurses that do see patients who have sustained an mTBI either through direct head impact, serious whiplash injuries, or blast injuries from military service.

We would be honored if you join us

When
Friday, November 1st from 9:15am to 11:30am
(warm breakfast will be provided)

Where
Cerebral Chiropractic Center
7601 M.L.K. Jr. St. N Suite E, St. Petersburg, Florida 33702

In this course we will cover:

  •  Review of craniocervical anatomy
  • Craniocervical biomechanics
  • Craniocervical hydrodynamics including cerebral blood flow patterns and cerebrospinal fluid hydrodynamics
  • Traumatic structural effects of an mTBI to both the brain and the craniocervical junction

Pathophysiological effects of an mTBI including:

  • Inflammatory responses
  • Glymphaitic system disruption
  • Jugular vein occlusion
  • Cerebral blood flow insufficiencies
  • Vestibular dysregulation
  • Inhibited postural control
  • Brainstem dysafferentation
  • Sympathetic dysautonomia
  • How common mTBI symptoms are related to these pathophysiological effects.
  • Differences between head impact mTBI’s and blast injury mTBIs, including the differences in the            pathophysiological cascades.
  • Effectiveness of common mTBI prevention tools
  • Imaging types for mTBI and what they say
  • Rationale and effectiveness of craniocervical interventions on brain function, brain chemistry, neurodegeneration, and common symptoms
  • Rationale and effectiveness of various early-, late-, and end-stage intervention
